Oh yes, this is the culprit.  I have 3 keyboards and always used one on my Playstation2.  Well I'm typing away one evening with this little piggy running around and the keyboard doesn't work.  I unplug it and plug it back in and it works.  So I'm thinking, "oh ok, just a game glitch." but then 5 minutes later~ bam!  no keyboard.  I give up on it for the evening and get up this morning to look and what do I see?  I see that my keyboard wire has been thoroughly chewed!  On the bright side, when i was about 5 years old, my Dad showed me how to splice wires and change tires so I managed to put it all back together
